VILLA MIRA MONTE
This project is an expansion of an historic site, currently home to the Morgan Hill House and the Morgan Hill History Museum. The undeveloped eastern half of the property will be developed to include an orchard, indigenous gardens, an outdoor gathering space, and a new community building to support educational events, classes, and community gatherings. The community building design is inspired by vernacular barns common to the agricultural history of the region, but detailed and articulated with contemporary touches that indicate it is a community space rather than an agricultural one. The new landscape ties the site together, and in concert wit the community building serves as backdrop to support the mission of the Morgan Hill Historical Society: “To preserve and share the history of Morgan Hill, and its environs, to inspire a sense of community.”
