OROVILLE LIBRARY

A stunning faceted ceiling, reminiscent of folded origami forms, is the feature element of this library renovation. The soaring gabled ceiling is visible through a broad south facing window wall, accented by cedar eaves. The window wall is interrupted by a bay window, complete with a comfy banquette seating, a perfect place to read a book with the sunlight pouring in. Inside the library, warm wood wraps the walls, with built in shelving in the Children’s and Teen’s rooms. A new makerspace, along with several small study rooms expanding the resources that the library offers the community. The library, converted decades ago from an old grocery store, continues its evolution as a centerpiece of the community, with new technological and programmatic resources, as well as a reimagined interior.
